Florida Week 1

We are spending my last 2 weeks of maternity leave with Grandma and Grandpa in Florida. We are about 1/2 way through our vacation and already have a lot of adventure under our belt!
First of all Charlie took his first airplane ride and was great! Henry did well too. We got through with compliments by our surrounding passengers and old ladies galore trying to pinch Charlie's cheeks.
We went to the east coast of Florida for an overnight trip and went to Lion Country. It is basically a drive through zoo. Henry got to sit up front and had a blast watching all the animals walk by. Here are some shots:

We had a set back with a double ear infection for Henry, then a bad reaction to the antibiotics he took. So 2 days in urgent cares, but then he was back to normal. He loves the pool at the house and that's where we are most days. Unless Grandpa decides to fire up the "race car"

Then we took a trip to the beach for the last 2 days and loved it. Charlie stayed in the shade with mom or Grandma and Henry either spent sun up to sun down playing at the beach or asking to play at the beach.

Charlie is 2 months old

He was in a great mood as we took our two month tie shot:

Why are you still shooting? I gave you a smile!

I'm outta here

Charlie is chugging along as he turns two months. He is still a little guy (about the 25th percentile for weight). He was diagnosed with acid reflux last week. He joined his dad in taking Zantac and it is night and day! Before he would scream in pain and spit up after every feeding. He went through a lot of outfits. Now he is feeling much better, and gaining weight a lot faster.

On Monday we are taking these two guys to Florida for the last weeks of my maternity leave. We have some pretty cool stuff planned: a safari trip, twins game and practice, and a few days at the beach! If you ask Henry what he wants to see it is the coconut tree in Grandpa and Grandma's yard. He is easy to please :)

Vitamin D

Grandpa's engine:

Hello Everyone!
We are happy to report that we have 1 out of 2 sleeping again. We took some advice of parents in our early childhood class and had a battle of wills with Henry. Every time he got out of bed one of us would guide him back to bed with no eye contact, words, etc. The first night we had 85 returns to bed, the next night a little less, and so on and so on. Until day 5 we did a trip to the crib instead of the bed, and that was it! The next nap and every night since he has stayed in bed!!!! We are relieved and we have a much happier boy.
Today the high was 57 deg F (~14C for you Brits :))! We went outside and Charlie experienced the sunshine for the first time! He has suffered the fate of a MN January birthday- inside it is for the first months. Henry loved going for a walk, playing in the snow, and generally just messing around out side.
