Over the river and through the woods.....

To Grandma's (& Grandpa's) house we went. We went to Florida for 5 days this past week. It was Henry's first airplane ride, and it went pretty well. He was quiet for most of both flights, the only incident being he threw up on me (twice). 2 shirt changes later, I was wearing Eric's jacket, and we were in Minneapolis!

During our stay we were out and about all over Ft. Myers. Here is Henry's first trip to the beach:




Grandma Cathy was a godsend while we were there. I can't recommend enough having a grandparent on vacation with you :) Not only did we have a willing babysitter, she was a great sport and was willing to do feedings, changings, and putting to sleep. She even helped me out when Henry had a diaper integrity issue at a restaurant and I forgot the wipes! She started what we now call "Grandma Gym"- she taught him (and us) how to roll over, do sit ups, and have a play time while he learns some skills!



He also used his dad's baby rattle while we visited and he took to it really fast. His Grandpa and myself are convinced he will join our ranks as a lefty.

A new world discovered, sitting up (with help)!

Henry found a new adventure.....his bumbo. It's a seat that helps babies learn to sit up, and he is a big fan. We've noticed that he was starting to lurch forward when we were holding him, so we thought we would try it out. He just sits in the chair and is happy as can be.

One BIG disadvantage to his new favorite seat is he is now Hero level, and he gets a lot of kisses. Here is Hero giving him his 1st wet willie:


In our house recently the Olympics are on pretty much around the clock. Eric is a big enthusiast, like will watch a curling match for 2+ hours and not let me change the channel enthusiast......... Apparently like father, like son:

2 months old!

Henry turned 2 months old yesterday. Here is his picture:


Today you must excuse me for talking about an indelicate subject.......but Eric and I had our first experience with a 'blowout diaper'. Henry pooped with such force today and he blew the snaps off of his onesie, and had poop from his behind to his hair :) Eric was the lucky one to discover it and yelled "Emergency!" throughout the house. I raced in, and tried to help get everything cleaned up, all the while Henry was giving us huge smiles. It's like he knew what he was putting us through. After the initial cleanup it was off to a bath! The 2 month picture is just post bath where he is once again our sweet smelling baby!

We did some tummy time on the floor with Henry's stuffed dog to look at. We forgot to pick up the dog after we were done, and one of the dogs took advantage of the situation. I think this is the first of many destroyed toys in Henry's life :)

Henry found a new love- his swing. Today he's been sort of fussy because all of his shots, but he has found solace in his swing. He is just mesmerized by the mobile while he swings back and forth!

Henry's 2 month Doctor Appointment

Hi All~
We went to the Doctor this morning and had a checkup.

The official stats:

Weight- 13 lbs 5 Oz 90% percentile
Height- 23 1/2 inches 75% percentile

The Doctor mentioned the word "chunky" while we talked about weight, but in a good way :) The verdict is that he is a happy, healthy 2 month old! He turned a new shade or red/purple when he got his four shots and screamed, I don't think he is a fan.
